    Finding the Right Practitioner

Have you been offered bargain aesthetic treatments and aren't sure if they're too good to be true? A short guide to choosing safely.

The non-surgical aesthetics industry in the UK is still only partially regulated. That means almost anyone — regardless of training or medical background — can legally pick up a syringe and inject your face. It is the single most important reason why choosing the right practitioner matters more than choosing the cheapest price.

Before you book anywhere, ask three simple questions. First: is the practitioner a registered medical professional (doctor, dentist, nurse or qualified aesthetic specialist) with insurance? Second: where are the treatments performed — a clinical setting with prescription-only medicines and emergency drugs on site, or a home kitchen? Third: who manages complications if something doesn't go to plan?

Look for verifiable training. Reputable practitioners are happy to show qualifications, share before-and-after photographs of their own work and provide named references. Membership of professional bodies such as Save Face or Consulting Room is another strong indicator.

Bargain prices for prescription medicines are almost always a red flag. Genuine products — Botox, Juvederm, Teoxane, Profhilo — are expensive at trade. If a treatment is offered far below market rate the product is either heavily diluted, counterfeit, or the consultation, aftercare and complication cover have been stripped away.

At The Aesthetic Clinic every treatment is performed by Danielle in a fully equipped clinic in Ormskirk, using genuine pharmaceutical-grade products and prescribed on an individual patient basis. Your safety, comfort and natural-looking result come first — always.
